What We Do

Our Day

Every day at pre-school is different with lots going on, but we do follow a timetable. In the morning we have free play until 11am. During this time the children can choose what they play with and whether they would rather be inside or outdoors. During this time the children will also be invited to eat their healthy snack of fruit/salad/breadsticks and drink some milk or water. (Snacks are provided by pre-school). We encourage children to use the toilet or have their nappies changed at this time as well.

After this, we come together for Group Time, where we carry out an activity or game designed to develop a particular Area of Learning. Then we share a story in groups, before preparing for lunch (using the toilet and washing hands) or getting ready to go home. The afternoon runs much the same, with many of our special activities taking place at this time.

Our Aims

We seek to help your child reach their full potential and have the skills needed to start school. To achieve this, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and plan activities for each individual child to ensure they are learning at a pace that best suits them and making progress in all areas.
See our Special Needs Educational Statement here.

Our Special Activities

With our fantastic location we are able to provide both beach and forest school experiences for your child. Our brand new Forest School area will be opening in Autumn 2022, and we hold Beach School week at least once a term. The Book Bus visits us at school twice a month, and we supplement this with regular visits to the local library. We often take walks along the trees in the cricket ground, or around the village, to help the children feel the community spirit.
